Status of submission of reports by States parties under article 18 of the Convention
Report of the Secretary-General
1.Rule 49 of the rules of procedure of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women provides that, at each session, the Secretary-General shall notify the Committee of the non-submission of any report that States parties are required to submit under article 18 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.
2.Annex I to the present report contains a list of the States parties as at 24 November 2008. In some cases, the Committee has modified the date of submission calculated in accordance with article 18, paragraph 1 of the Convention, and that is reflected in the report.
3.Annex II to the present report contains a list of States parties whose reports were five years or more overdue as at 24 November 2008.
