Follow-up information relating to paragraph 12 of the concluding observations
Sexual orientation, gender identity and intersex persons
1.The coalition agreement for 2023–2028 provides that: “The Government will commit to respecting and strengthening the protection of non-binary gender identities. It will undertake to ensure that the procedures for [...] sex assignment for intersex persons are assessed and adapted to their needs. The Government will closely monitor and analyse the relevant legal frameworks in force in other countries of the European Union.”
2.To take account of international recommendations and the coalition agreement, the Government will establish an interministerial working group, which will include relevant stakeholders, to review the procedures applicable to sex assignment for intersex persons and adjust them as needed.

3.To date, no legislative measures have been adopted in response to general comment No. 37, as the relevant legal analysis is still under way.
