ORGANIZATIONAL AND OTHER MATTERS (agenda item 2) (continued)

1.The CHAIRMAN invited a member of the secretariat to report on the communications received under article 22.

2.Mrs. ROSA RUEDA (Committee secretariat) drew attention to three documents contained in one of the confidential files for the session. The first (CAT/C/23/R.1) contained a report on the 48 communications before the Committee. On page 15 of the document was a provisional list of the communications it had been decided to consider at the present session. In most cases, the secretariat needed instructions in order to draft the final version of the draft views. On the same page of the document, two other communications were mentioned; it was proposed that consideration of those communications should be closed if the rapporteurs concerned so decided, after examining the information received recently. In the two other documents were two sets of draft views on which the rapporteurs had already drawn up their recommendations. The two documents were ready for consideration.

3.The CHAIRMAN said that, with the information that had just been provided on the status of the communications submitted under article 22 of the Convention, the Committee had completed its consideration of agenda item 2. If there were no comments from the members of the Committee, he proposed to bring the meeting to a close.

4.It was so decided.

The meeting rose at 3.15 p.m.
