Attended the fifty-second session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in February 2008. Between 12 and 24 November 2007 attended training on treaty monitoring bodies in Geneva where I attained in-depth knowledge of the United Nations human rights system and treaty body procedure, the reporting systems, committee membership, preparation of shadow reports and monitoring government compliance. In July 2007 represented FIDA Kenya at the thirty-ninth session of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women where Kenya was presenting her combined fifth and sixth country report to the CEDAW Committee. She submitted the FIDA Kenya shadow report.

In this capacity, Professor Bailey has represented the Government of Jamaica at regional and international conferences on matters relating to gender, women’s rights.

The preparation of the National Plan of Action for Women’s Human Rights provided to the Parliament and the UNDP. Publication of several studies accordingly to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Beijing declaration, and the implementation of the UN CEDAW convention in Lebanon and other related treaty bodies.

As well as, the preparation of the study on the “Evaluation of the National Committee for Lebanese women” on 2007.
