Optional Protocol to the Convention on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography: Questions for the State party to be taken up in connection with the consideration of the report of Kazakhstan (CRC/C/OPSA/KAZ/1)

1. Please provide statistical data (including by sex, age, urban/rural areas) for the years 2002, 2003, and 2004 on:

the number of children trafficked to and from Kazakhstan;

the number of reported cases related to the offences defined in article 3.1 of the Protocol;

the number of cases prosecuted and sanctioned in criminal courts;

the number of child victims provided recovery assistance as defined in article 9.3 of the Protocol.

Please indicate which government body is in charge of coordination and implementation of the Optional Protocol.

Please provide information on budget allocations (national, regional and local)

for the implementation of the rights contained in the Optional Protocol. In particular, please detail the financial contribution for the National Plan against Trafficking.

Please provide more information on the compensation awarded to child victims of offences under the Optional Protocol, as described in article 9.4.
