ADOPTION OF THE COMMITTEE’S REPORT ON ITS TWENTY-NINTH SESSION (CRC/C/114)

The CHAIRPERSON invited the members of the Committee to consider chapter I of the report, “Organizational and other matters”.

Chapter I was adopted.

The CHAIRPERSON invited the Rapporteur to introduce chapter II, section B of the report, entitled “Reports by States parties under article 44 of the Convention”, which contained the Committee’s concluding observations on the reports of Lebanon, Greece, Gabon, Mozambique, Chile, Malawi, Bahrain and Andorra. Consideration of the initial report of the United Arab Emirates had been postponed to the thirtieth session of the Committee.

Ms. KARP (Rapporteur) summarized the issues common to all eight reports, and described the Committee’s observations on the reports of Lebanon, Greece, Gabon and Chile.

The concluding observations on the second periodic report of Lebanon were adopted.

Concluding observations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child: Greece (CRC/C/15/Add.170)

The concluding observations on the initial report of Greece were adopted.

Concluding observations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child: Gabon (CRC/C/15/Add.171)

The concluding observations on the initial report of Gabon were adopted.

Concluding observations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child: Chile (CRC/C/15/Add.173)

The concluding observations on the second periodic report of Chile were adopted.

The CHAIRPERSON described the Committee’s concluding observations on the reports of Mozambique, Malawi, Bahrain and Andorra.

The concluding observations on the initial report of Mozambique were adopted.

Concluding observations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child: Malawi (CRC/C/15/Add.174)

The concluding observations on the initial report of Malawi were adopted.

Concluding observations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child: Bahrain (CRC/C/15/Add.175)

The concluding observations on the initial report of Bahrain were adopted.

Concluding observations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child: Andorra (CRC/C/15/Add.176)

The concluding observations on the initial report of Andorra were adopted.

The CHAIRPERSON invited the members to consider the remainder of the report.

The report of the twenty-ninth session, as a whole, was adopted.

CLOSURE OF THE SESSION

The CHAIRPERSON declared closed the twenty-ninth session of the Committee on the Rights of the Child.

The meeting rose at 12.40 p.m.
