1.In pursuance of article 72, paragraph 4, of the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families, the Fifth Meeting of States Parties to the Convention will be convened by the Secretary-General at United Nations Headquarters on 8 December 2011 to elect seven members of the Committee on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families to replace those whose terms are due to expire on 31 December 2011 (see annex I). The names of the seven members who will continue to serve on the Committee until 31 December 2013 appear in annex II.

2.In accordance with article 72, paragraph 3, of the Convention, the Secretary-General, in a note verbale dated 14 July 2011, invited the States parties to submit their nominations for the election of seven members of the Committee by 5 September 2011. Listed below in alphabetical order are the nominees, with the States parties which have proposed them indicated in parentheses:
