ADOPTION OF THE COMMITTEE’S REPORT ON ITS TWENTY-SEVENTH SESSION (CRC/C/108)

The CHAIRPERSON invited the members of the Committee to consider chapter I, “Organizational and other matters.”

Chapter I of the report was adopted.

The CHAIRPERSON invited the Rapporteur to introduce chapter II, section B of the report, entitled “Reports by States parties under article 44 of the Convention,” which contained the Committee’s concluding observations on the reports of Denmark, Turkey, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guatemala, Côte d’Ivoire, United Republic of Tanzania, Bhutan and Monaco.

Ms. KARP (Rapporteur) summarized the issues common to all eight reports, and described the Committee’s observations on the reports of Denmark, Turkey, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Guatemala.

Concluding observations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child: Denmark (CRC/C/15/Add.151)

The concluding observations on the second periodic report of Denmark were adopted.

Concluding observations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child: Turkey (CRC/C/15/Add.152)

The concluding observations on the initial report of Turkey were adopted.

Concluding observations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child: Democratic Republic of the Congo (CRC/C/15/Add.153)

The concluding observations on the initial report of the Democratic Republic of the Congo were adopted.

Concluding observations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child: Guatemala (CRC/C/15/Add.154)

The concluding observations on the second periodic report of Guatemala were adopted.

The CHAIRPERSON described the Committee’s concluding observations on the reports of Côte d’Ivoire, United Republic of Tanzania, Bhutan and Monaco.

Concluding observations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child: Côte d’Ivoire (CRC/C/15/Add.155)

The concluding observations on the initial report of Côte d’Ivoire were adopted.

Concluding observations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child: United Republic of Tanzania (CRC/C/15/Add.156)

The concluding observations on the revised initial report of the United Republic of Tanzania were adopted.

Concluding observations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child: Bhutan (CRC/C/15/Add.157)

The concluding observations on the initial report of Bhutan were adopted.

Concluding observations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child: Monaco (CRC/C/15/Add.158)

The concluding observations on the initial report of Monaco were adopted.

Chapter II of the report was adopted.

The CHAIRPERSON invited the members to consider the remainder of the report.

The report of the twenty-seventh session, as a whole, was adopted.

CLOSURE OF THE SESSION

The CHAIRPERSON drew the members’ attention to a document circulated in the meeting room containing a statement by the Committee for submission to the Third Preparatory Committee Meeting of the World Conference against Racism. If he heard no objection, he would take it that the Committee wished formally to adopt the statement.

It was so decided.

The CHAIRPERSON declared closed the twenty-seventh session of the Committee on the Rights of the Child.

The meeting rose at 1 p.m.
